Unsecured website and SSL

SSL and "Not Secure"

For a few days now, following a Google update to its browser, a message appears in the address bar warning about "Not secure."

The thing is that browsing on 99% of the world's websites is done over the HTTP protocol, a NON-encrypted protocol. You will see that when you connect to the bank and enter sensitive information, the bank always requires you to use the HTTPS protocol, which involves encrypting the information sent by the browser, for example when filling out a form.

Google will mark all websites that do not use HTTPS as "NOT secure" but will do so gradually. It will start by marking as unsafe those sites that, in addition to using this protocol, require passwords and other sensitive data such as credit cards. However, the criteria will become stricter until all of them are marked as unsafe.

In the opinion of this company and many other professionals consulted, this step by Google does not really make any sense because the information we read in a newspaper or on a website about movies does not need any encryption and there are plenty of techniques to encrypt passwords and data of all kinds without needing to use https.

In any case , inmotek has already enabled the possibility of https access by checking "Use SSL" from the start box .

Important

If you want your website to appear as secure in green, you need an SSL certificate, which you can order through inmotek or buy yourself.

In all cases the installation cost of the certificate is 3 Teks one time only , and the cost of the certificate in inmotek is €69/year.

TEK MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH INMOTEK, THE COST OF THE CERTIFICATE IS CHARGED TO THE ACCOUNT

If you buy it yourself, you must worry about its annual renewal and send us the final certificate with the private key, CSR, etc. We will not accept certificates issued in part or purchase process emails.

To request it you must send a Web-type incident with the subject SSL,
